Have you ever thought about your attitude and how it can affect what is happening around you? We know our attitudes can affect the people we are around in good ways and also bad one. Did you know that attitudes can change how we perceive things? How about being judged for our attitudes. Did you think that was possible.
I do not mean being judged by others, that is not something we have authority to do. I mean judgement day, when Jesus makes his final judgement on our lives. Take a look at the attitude you have towards life. Do you have a positive outlook on life and reaping the benefits? Are you looking at life with a not so good perception and reaping not great results?
To start, let's turn to Numbers 13:25-14:4. Here we see how attitudes can affect how we perceive things. “After 40 days of exploration, they returned from their tour. They made the report to Moses, Aaron, and all the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran at Kadesh, and they showed the fruit they had brought with them.” “We arrived in the land you sent us to see, and it was indeed a magnificent country a land flowing with milk and honey.” This is it good example how going into things with a positive attitude leads to a positive perception. Now the other side of spies they came back with a different report.
When they came back they talked about how (Numbers 13:28) “The people living there are powerful, and their cities are fortified and very large; and what's more we saw Anakin Giants there!” Caleb speaks up and reassures them all in front of Moses, “Let us go up at once and posses it.” Having a positive attitude truly does matter. Attitudes ultimately can affect how we learn and understand things. It can affect how we look at things. Having a positive attitude is important.
What clarifies a bad attitude versus a good one. What is God say about attitudes and which attitudes should we make a habit of showing?
In Matthew 5:21-22 it says “Under laws of Moses the rule was if you murder, you must die, but I added to that rule and tell you that if you are only angry, even in your own home, you are in danger of judgment! If you call your friend an idiot, you are in danger of being brought to the court, and if you curse him, you are in danger of the fires of hell.”
In Proverbs chapter 15:13 it says “a happy face means a glad heart and a sad face means a breaking heart.”
It also says in Proverbs 15:15 when a man is gloomy, everything seems to go wrong; when he is cheerful, everything seems right!” this means when we go into things with a positive attitude positive things tend to happen. But when we go with a bad attitude bad things are bound to happen. So let’s go into things with a positive attitude whether things are scary or not.
A change in attitude can definitely change your perception and perception is important.
In end we see how attitude really is important. We see that it could cause judgment from our father God in heaven. It could alter our perception and therefore understanding of certain situations. It can affect how people want to be around us. But most importantly when you put your best foot forward and have a positive outlook no matter what, nothing’s going to shake you.
Nothing should shake you if you have God on your side. If you have strong faith in him, you would watch the attitude that you’re putting out there.
(Philippians 2:14-15) “Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”
(Romans 12:2) “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
(Mathew 6:33) “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
