Before every breakthrough; notice that there is always a distraction! This season the Lord has revealed to me that many people are being distracted by some parts of their pasts and these can include habits, weaknesses (majorly things you have once overcome in your past) or even people who you practically chose to leave in your past.
While most of us have things in our past we wish we could go back and change, some have things in their past they can't seem to, well, get past. Some of these things have come back as though they are great opportunities, some are actually unfinished business and some might be giving you a forgiveness platform. In all these; be wise, be very discerning! “Teach me good judgment (discernment) and knowledge, For I have believed and trusted and relied on Your commandments.” Psalms 119:66 AMP
It’s never good to reopen a closed door especially when God allowed it to close! Looking back to a closed door can and will bring distraction! Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
God promises to make a way for you right in the middle of that wilderness and He surely is creating rivers in that desert you are in, wait for Him. Do not be taken away by the shiny opportunities that are meant to distract you from your progress! Because those are the true agents of delay and confusion!
“The Lord God has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious; I turned not backward. I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard; I hid not my face from disgrace and spitting. But the Lord God helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame. He who vindicates me is near. Who will contend with me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.” Isaiah 50:5-8
Father in Jesus Mighty name; we thank you that You teach us and help us not to be rebellious. We ask for discernment that we shall be able to judge between the situations at hand especially those that involve our past experiences and people. We refuse any kind of distraction from the enemy and declare that we are moving into our new spaces(promised land) with no hindrance in Jesus mighty name! Amen 🙏🏾
